Finale de la 38ème Olympiade Mathématique Belge

Le 18 mai, la cérémonie de proclamation de la 38ème Olympiade Mathématique Belge a eu lieu à Mons. Après une conférence par le Prof. Thomas Brihaye, intitulée Mathématiques : quand la théorie des jeux mène aux prix Nobel, les lauréats de la 38ème Olympiade Mathématique Belge ont été proclamés. Les résultats détaillés de la compétition peuvent être obtenus sous http://omb.sbpm.be.
Les participants luxembourgeois suivants ont obtenu des prix de classement et/ou des prix spéciaux (attribués aux plus jeunes concurrents des trois catégories qui soit ont obtenu un prix de classement soit ont tout juste raté un prix de classement):

Benelux Mathematical Olympiad 2013

The fifth Benelux Mathematical Olympiad took place in Dordrecht (the Netherlands) over the weekend. Luxembourg was represented by a team of ten contestants, led by Charles Leytem, Bernard Felten and Mike Dostert. The Luxembourg team won one silver medal, awarded to Christina Meyer (Athénée de Luxembourg).

International Mathematical Olympiad 2012

The 53nd International Mathematical Olympiad, held in Argentina, is about to end. Luxembourg was represented by a team of four contestants, led by leader Charles Leytem and deputy leader Mike Dostert. The Luxembourg contestants won a Bronze Medal and two Honourable Mentions (awarded to contestants who solve one problem completely, but fail to get a medal). Individual results were as follows:

Après une conférence par le Prof. Pascal Lambrechts, intitulée Les multiples facettes des polyèdres, les lauréats de la 37ème Olympiade Mathématique Belge ont été proclamés. First European Girls' Mathematical Olympiad 2012

The First European Girls' Mathematical Olympiad is being held in Cambridge (United Kingdom). The questions are available here. Luxembourg was represented by a team of four contestants, led by Pierre Haas and Mike Dostert. (The fourth contestant, Tara Aghajani, was not able to enter the UK because her visa application was delayed.) The Luxembourg scores are as follows:

Complete results are available here. The extremely difficult problems 4 and 8 were not solved completely by any contestant. Problems 5 and 7 were Luxembourg submissions by Pierre Haas.

The First European Girls' Mathematical Olympiad 2012

The first European Girls' Mathematical Olympiad (EGMO) will be held in Cambridge, United Kingdom, on 10-16 April 2012. The second European Girls' Mathematical Olympiad will take place in Luxembourg in 2013. Luxembourg will be represented at the first EGMO by a team of four contestants, accompanied by Mike Dostert (Deputy Leader) and Pierre Haas (Leader):
