Knights and Queens

Short description:

Among the famous chess inspired mathematical puzzles are those of the Knight's Tour and the Eight Queens. You can consult the corresponding wikipedia pages on the Knights and the Queens. It is possible to make many variations of these puzzles. A previous project has explored some variations of the Knights problem. This term, you can explore other variations, or focus on variations of the Queens problem.

Desired output

  1. Images (and animations).

  2. Computer code (e.g. in SAGE).

  3. A report written in LaTeX, containing a description of the mathematics used, a description of the algorithms and their implementations, as well as samples of the images, and your observations (if possible with proofs).
