Math Camp 2023

The Department of Mathematics (DMATH) organises the third Math Camp from 4 to 14 September 2023. The camp offers a mathematical warm up to all first year students to ease the transition between high school and university, and is arranged in two independent weeks.

You can find the poster of the event here: poster.

Boot Camp: 4-8 September 2023

This first week is a quick refresher/get in math shape quickly type initiative.

Students work in small groups, using a hands-on based approach to high school level mathematics under the supervision of specially trained math teachers. The aim is to review or familiarise students with concepts and techniques, focusing on those that will be used throughout their university curriculum.

Boot Camp leader: Guenda Palmirotta and Pierre Perruchaud

Prep Camp: 11-14 September 2023

This week serves as both a refresher on high school level mathematics, from the perspective of a university curriculum, and an introduction to concepts that students will be using throughout their bachelor studies. In the mornings, students follow courses given by uni.lu teachers.

Prep Camp leader: Ivan Nourdin

How do I sign up?

Registration is free but mandatory. Click here to register.

Please note: the registration form will be under maintenance on August 30 and will not be accessible during several hours.

Initial quiz

To help first year students to assess their math skills in relation to the minimum level that should be mastered by any student registering to a Bachelor programme at the Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine (FSTM), a quiz is published online. If you get weak results on the quiz, don't panic! Join us at the Boot Camp to improve your skills.

Previous edition

More than a hundred Uni.lu first year students from different fields, such as mathematics, engineering, physics and computer science, participated in the first edition of the Math camp. Read the full article here.
