The figure consists of a half circle contained in a half circle contained in a half circle. The largest and the middle half circle have the same starting point, and the middle half circle has half the radius of the largest. The smallest half circle starts at the center of the middle half circle and ends at the endpoint of the middle half circle, and has half the radius of the middle half circle.
COMMENT: We suppose that the radius of the circle is \(1\) because it is easy to rescale lengths and areas.
