Many busses go every few minutes from the main train station (Gare Centrale) to Campus Kirchberg through the city centre (Hamilius/Royal) and back.

If you needed to remember only two bus numbers, these would be 1 and 16.

Travel


By plane

Luxembourg airport is connected by regular flights to all main European destinations. Bus line 16 takes you in about 10' from the airport to the campus (bus stop Coudenhove-Kalergi) and in about 20' to the city centre.

Frankfurt-Hahn airport and Brussels-Charleroi airport are served by low-cost flights to many European destinations. A regular bus service connects the two airports to the main train station of the city of Luxembourg.

By train

There are direct trains (TGV) from Paris which take approximately 2h to reach the city of Luxembourg. Trains from Brussels to Luxembourg run hourly and take approximately 3 hours. There are also direct trains from Metz-Ville taking less than 1h and running every half an hour throughout the day. From Bonn the train takes about 3h (change in Koblenz). Accommodation


Accommodations for speakers will be reserved by our secretaries.
We ask all other participants to make their own hotel reservations in Luxembourg City.
You might consider staying in one of the following hotels:
Hotel Molitor (in between the railway station and the city centre)
Hotel Victor Hugo (in between the city centre and the campus)
Hotel Francais (city centre).
Coque Hotel (Next to the Kirchberg campus, outside of the city center).

WIFI


On the campus free wifi internet access will be provided to registered participants. For participants with an European eduroam account the internet can be accessed throught it at the Luxembourg university.

Conference Dinner


The conference dinner will take place in the restaurant Le Bouquet Garni (32 Rue de l'Eau, L-1449 Luxembourg) at 19:30 on Wednesday evening. To reach the restaurant, go to "Hamilius" with the bus (see above), then walk east through the city centre for around 10 minutes.

Please note that a participation fee of 20€ is required. The participation is to be paid during registration just before the conference, or at Katharina Heil's office for the locals.

Lunch breaks


There are several restaurants and snacks along avenue Kennedy and around, reachable in a 10-15 min walk.
