Statement about ICM 2022

The Executive Board of the Luxembourg Mathematical Society is highly concerned by the war in Ukraine and expresses its solidarity with Ukrainian mathematicians. It fully supports the statement of the European Mathematical Society and, as a consequence, urges the International Mathematical Union not to proceed with the ICM in Russia in 2022.

Der Vorstand der Luxemburgischen Mathematischen Gesellschaft äußert seine große Besorgnis über den Krieg in der Ukraine und drückt seine Solidarität mit den ukrainischen Mathematikerinnen und Mathematikern aus. Er unterstützt die Erklärung der Europäischen Mathematischen Gesellschaft und schließt sich der Forderung an die Internationale Mathematische Union an, den Internationalen Mathematikerkongress in Sankt Petersburg nicht durchzuführen.

Hautement préoccupé par la guerre en Ukraine, le conseil exécutif de la Société Mathématique du Luxembourg exprime sa solidarité avec les mathématiciens ukrainiens. Il soutient pleinement la déclaration de la Société mathématique européenne et, par conséquent, invite l’Union mathématique internationale à renoncer à l’organisation du congrès international des mathématiciens en Russie en 2022.
