Program

The program will start at 8.00pm. You will have the opportunity to meet world famous athletes:

  • Andy Schleck (Tour de France winner 2010)
  • Vincent Gérard (Handball World Champion 2017 and Olympic Champion 2020)
  • Ni Xia Lian (Table tennis mixed doubles World Champion 1983 and European Champion 2002)
A professional moderator will lead the discussion and athletes will share their rich international experience. We will discuss topics such as the use of data analytics, the evolution technology in sports and many others.
You will have the opportunity to submit your questions.




🚴 Andy Schleck

Andy Schleck is a former Luxembourgish professional cyclist. Born in 1985, Andy started his professional career in 2005 and won the individual time trial at the National Championships while his brother Fränk won the road race.

In 2007, he won the young rider classification in the Giro d'Italia and was second in the general classification behind Danilo Di Luca. From 2008 to 2010, he was the best young rider on the Tour de France.

In 2010, Andy takes the yellow jersey of the Tour de France for the first time at the 9th stage. He wears it for 12 days. He was declared winner of the general classification and won the Tour de France 2010 while he also won the white jersey of best young person for the third time.

In 2011, he finished second overall of the Tour de France, ahead of his brother Fränk.
In Ooctober 2014, he ended his career due to recurring injury issues.
In February 2016, Andy opened his bicycle shop (Andy Schleck Cycles) in Itzig, Luxembourg. He is also very active as an ambassador for various events and brands. He is also the president of the Tour de Luxembourg.

🤾 Vincent Gérard

Vincent Gérard is a former French handball goalkeeper. Retired after the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, Vincent accumulated 158 appearances in the French national team. Over his career, he played over 760 matches and saved more than 6680 shoots (34.3% save rate).

Vincent started his professional career in Montpellier Handball in 2006 and won his first title in 2008 with the French championship and the French Cup. Between 2008 and 2024, Vincent played with 6 diffent clubs (Montpellier Handball, Istres PH, Dunkerque HGL, Paris SG, Saint-Raphaël VHB and THW Kiel). He won the French Championship 5 times, the French cup 5 times, the League Cup 5 times and the Super Cup 3 times.

Vincent was awarded the title of best goalkeeper of the French championship in 2011, 2013, 2014, 2017 and 2018. He won, with Montpellier in 2018, the Champions League. His first appearance in the French national team was in 2013.

Highlighting his career with the French national team, Vincent won 7 medals in international competitions:

On individual awards, Vincent was elected best goal keepers over 8 competitions (5 national and 3 international competitions): Vincent ended his professional career after the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. His last match was the quaterfinal of the competition against Germany. France lost after extra-time, but Vincent gave a strong performance with 24 saves (42%).

🏓 Ni Xia Lian

Ni Xia Lian is a Chinese-born Luxembourgish table tennis player. At 61 years old, Auntie Ni is one of the oldest active table tennis player and is ranked 60.

Ni started her international career with the Chinese national team and was world champion for team and mixed doubles in 1983.

She started representing Luxembourg in 1991 and became European champion in 1998 and 2002. participated to the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney.

Her adventure at the 2024 Olympic Games turned viral worldwide and several journals highlighted her performance such as the New York TImes or the Guardian.

Within 42 years of career, Ni Xia Lian won 11 medals in international competitions and participated to 5 Olympic Games.
