Florian Felice Discussing AI Innovations at STATEC

On December 21st, 2023 a Ph.D. student Florian Felice from the MIDAS team gave a talk Artificial Intelligence and Statistics: Navigating Potentials, Pitfalls, and Use at the economic seminar organized by STATEC in collaboration with the Luxembourg Statistical Society.

The primary objective of this presentation was to empower users to navigate responsibly within the realm of sophisticated AI-powered tools. During his talk, he offered a thorough exploration of the history and evolution of Artificial Intelligence, with a focus on its challenges such as the possibility of producing misleading information and reinforcing societal biases. He discussed strategies to mitigate some of these drawbacks and concluded the talk with practical recommendations for encouraging the responsible and ethical application of generative AI, ensuring its usefulness while maintaining integrity.
